Help our new Braves as they settle into their nests! This year, move-in will be taking place on Friday, August 12th and Saturday, August 13th from 8am - 4pm. We are encouraging volunteers to sign up for at least one shift per day - but feel free to sign up for as many shifts as you'd like! Volunteers will attend a training on August 11th.
Volunteers who will be residing on campus will be allowed to move in early (August 11th). If you plan to move in early, please indicate so when you sign up.
All volunteers will receive a free shirt which they will be asked to wear - UNCP gear is encouraged as well!
Volunteers will:
- Check in with the Drop-off Zone Facilitator to await a move-in assignment.
- Introduce yourself to new students and families, and unload at their belonging at the direction of the facilitator’s direction.
- Move all items from the vehicle to the sidewalk location first. DO NOT take items to the room until the vehicle is completely unloaded, labeled, AND the vehicle has been relocated to parking.
- Aim for one trip per student. Before leaving the drop-off zone, confirm everything has been picked up with the family member, and go together to the student’s room assignment. Stick together!
- Maximize your use of stairs. Please reserve the elevator for use by those utilizing a dolly and those with mobility needs.
- Return as a team and check in with your assigned Drop-off Zone Facilitator.
- If you leave early for any reason, check out with the Volunteer Coordinator.
