To celebrate the Read-In, UNCP students, faculty and staff read in local schools each semester. This November to honor American Indian Heritage Month, we will visit Pembroke Elementary School on Friday, November 1st. During the Read-In, students, faculty and staff bring a book to share that honors any American Indian tribe and reads the text with the elementary class. They can also continue the text through discussion and hands-on activities of their choice.
On Friday, November 1st, we will gather at 8:30am in the Pembroke Elementary library and then go visit classrooms. Please consider sharing this opportunity with your students and faculty. If you would like to participate, please visit https://tinyurl.com/ReadInFall2019 and sign up for a classroom - you can sign up by yourself or with a partner.
