Description

Volunteers will help with roof work with tasks that include:

  • Framework & begin lifting/securing the roof trusses onto a newly constructed house
  • Nailing OSB to the exterior studs, joists, and rafters in preparation for roof shingles
  • Installing shingles on the roof

NOTE: Ground and roof work will be available. Volunteers working on the roof will be required to wear a safety harness. A "HUGS" safety rail system will be installed along the perimeter of the roof. AGE REQUIREMENT: 18 or older

Inclement Weather Plan: Unless you hear otherwise from a Habitat staff member (via email by 6:45 am the day of the shift), plan to volunteer rain or shine. Habitat supervisors can often adjust work tasks to accommodate for inclement weather

Get Connected Icon Wear comfortable work clothes & proper footwear (work boots or athletic sneakers). No open-toed shoes
Get Connected Icon All necessary tools and safety gear will be provided by HFHC. If preferred, you may bring your own. Please label all personal tools with your name.
Get Connected Icon Lunch is not provided by HFHC. Volunteers can off-site for lunch, bring bagged lunches, or arrange for food delivery.
