The Thomas Family Center for Entrepreneurship is proud to announce the 2016 Entrepreneurship Summit, which will take place on April 7th, 2016 at the Givens Performance Arts Center. The Summit will provide businesses and residents of Southeastern North Carolina with resources and inspiration to nourish new opportunities.
This year’s Entrepreneurship Summit includes three separate portions:
- Tradeshow: Student organizations will hold fundraising activities. Local businesses will display products and advertisements to promote their businesses. Business Resource Organizations will promote their services to educate aspiring entrepreneurs and support economic development in the region.
- Battle of the Business: Each of the eight high schools throughout Robeson County will present a business idea developed entirely by students. The guideline is for each team to create and promote a business that will have a positive social impact in the community. They will prepare poster boards and video presentations for their business ideas, competing for cash prizes.
- Speaker Series: Following the tradeshow, a speaker series will commence. Guest speakers include), Michael Robinson (Carolinas Vineyards & Hops), Vonta Leach (Vonta Leach Foundation), and Keynote Speaker Thomas Davis (Defending Dreams Foundation).
