Who We Are
In addition to providing housing assistance through low-income rental housing, the PHA provides housing support services through the Resident Services Department. Currently, the PHA operates the two programs – ExpoGro and Full Circle.
In partnership with Helping Hands for Progress, Inc.(HHP), the Pembroke Housing Authority operates a clothing bank at 400 Locklear Street (Maynor Manor). Items are contributed to HHP, Inc. through private donations.
What We Do
The Pembroke Housing Authority (PHA) was chartered as a corporation on January 29, 1992, pursuant to the General Statutes of North Carolina, Chapter 157, Housing Authorities Law, to provide decent, safe and sanitary housing to the low-income citizens of Pembroke and surrounding areas.
The ExpoGro Program encourages local youth (ages six to 18) to reach their full potential by improving academic achievement, boosting self-esteem, developing social competence, and avoiding problem/high-risk behavior through mentoring and tutoring by PHA Resident Services staff.
Established in January of 2000, the Pembroke Housing Authority Full Circle is a program designed to provide oversight of daily living of the elderly and disabled residents who dwell in a unit alone, in the form of case management services.
