Family Promise of Scotland County

Family Promise is an organization dedicated to preventing and ending homelessness for families with children. Our approach centers on fostering sustainable independence through a community-based response that helps homeless families stay together while they secure and maintain permanent housing. We go beyond merely providing shelter and finding long-term housing; our goal is to equip families with the skills and employment opportunities they need to thrive. We offer a fresh start through personalized mentoring and essential life skills training, including budgeting and basic home maintenance.

Family Promise helps local communities coordinate their compassion to address the root causes of family homelessness. We address the issue holistically, providing prevention services before families reach crisis, shelter and case management when they become homeless, and stabilization programs once they have secured housing to ensure they remain independent. We tap existing local resources to empower families towards economic stability. Families come to us in crisis; we help them rebuild their lives with new skills and ongoing support.
