Who We Are
The CARE Resource Center is an on-campus resource to help address food insecurity and poverty on campus and in the local community. The CARE Resource Center is comprised of two components to meet these needs: food pantry and professional clothing closet. By reaching out to students, faculty/staff, and community members we encourage those to feel welcomed using the services provided.
What We Do
Our services are provides to students twice a month. Faculty/staff can visit once every month. Community members can visit once every month with the completion of a workshop through the Brave Foundations.
Initiatives
Volunteerism- The CARE Resource Center runs on donations and the help of volunteers.
Food Insecurity/Hunger Awareness- The Care Resource Center develops partnerships with on and off campus organizations and businesses to address food insecurity and poverty in Robeson County.
Food Recovery- The CARE Resource Center has partnered with Second Harvest Food Bank and Sodexo to pick-up food for redistribution.
Composting- The CARE Resource Center has partnered with local farmers to reduce the center's food waste.
