The College of Arts & Sciences, the Morehead Planetarium and Science Center, and the Public Schools of Robeson County are collaborating on a conference style event called STEMville, which will be held on UNCP’s campus Friday, March 15, 2019. Approximately one hundred 7th graders will attend a keynote address and participate in concurrent hands-on sessions on STEM topics.
Volunteers are needed to help:
- work check-in/registration for students and presenters,
- assist presenters with handing out materials,
- escort or direct students to session locations,
- serve as “runners” to help with unforeseen issues that might arise,
- escort the keynote speaker,
- assist with logistical needs as needed.
Familiarity with Oxendine Science Building a plus, but not required.
Individuals who wish to volunteer for the event, but who cannot work the entire time may contact the organizers for arrangements.
Volunteers will be notified of assignments by email prior to the event and should check-in at Hickory Hall (between UNCP Library and Chancellor's House) for their shifts.
