Volunteer: Teen Court is Back — and We Need You!

As the new school year begins, Teen Court in Robeson County is starting back up—and we’re looking for volunteers!

This is a great way to serve your community, gain hands-on courtroom experience, and build valuable skills. We need volunteers for the following roles:

Jury Members – A great place to start for first-time volunteers. You'll listen to cases and help decide fair sanctions.

Clerks – Help run the courtroom by calling cases, and swearing in witnesses.

Attorney Advocates – Represent clients or the community in real cases. Great for those who enjoy speaking and problem-solving.

No experience needed—Teen Court staff will train and support you every step of the way!

Please Call or text  (910 785-5349 to signup!

Volunteer: Victim Empowerment and Education Program (VEEP)

VEEP addresses victims of school-related crime such as bullying and teen dating violence, child abuse, domestic violence and sexual assault crime. Victims are often living in poor, rural and ethnically diverse under-served communities with little access to support services. VEEP staff assists by training and implementing a research driven model for school staff, law enforcement and United Way partner agencies to avoid further victimization of the clients they serve.

VEEP staff provides training on the dynamics of victimization and strengthening communication for crisis response using national training curricula. Victims are referred by the teen court program and other programs within the Center, as well as partner agencies throughout Robeson County. VEEP offers counseling and advocacy support using Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and expressive arts methods.
