Join us for Hoop for Hunger, a basketball tournament hosted by the CARE Resource Center and Campus Recreation. Hoop for Hunger is dedicated to raising awareness about food insecurity, while supporting our on-campus food pantry.
Tournament details:
Date: March 20
Time: 5 - 7:30 p.m.
Location: Jones Center, Main Gym
How to participate:
There is only enough room for 6 teams to participate. Each team must have 5 - 8 players. Teams can be co-ed.
Fill out the form below to register your team. To secure your teams spot, there is a registration fee of one non-perishable food item per each team member (i.e. if you are registering a team of 7 players, there will be a registration fee of 7 non-perishable food items).
Once you've received confirmation of registration, you can drop off your team's registration fee at the CAR Resource Center. Your teams contribution of non-perishable items will directly support the CARE Resource Center.
Team registration closes Monday, March 4.
Competition & Compassion:
Leading up to the tournament on March 20, teams who have secured their spot have the opportunity to get an automatic bye in the first round. The automatic bye will go to the top two teams who donate the most non-perishable items to the CARE Resource Center.
Gather your squad, collect your non-perishable items, and sign up for some friendly competition with a purpose.
Even if you aren't hitting the court, you can still contribute by donating non-perishable items. You can drop off items at the CARE Resource Center or during the tournament on March 20.
If you have questions, please reach out to Kamren Lewis at kamren.lewis@uncp.edu.
Registration has now closed.
