Who We Are
It often sounds simplistic that we are categorized as a home for children, but in short, that is exactly what we do; house children. However, we here, at Robeson House strive to provide a nurturing environment that is conducive to healthy growth, learning and living. Robeson House believes in the "Campground Rule"; leaving something better than what you found it. Here at Robeson House, Inc we shelter indigent, abused, neglected, and undisciplined youth for periods of 90 days. While in residence, clients receive emotional, mental, and educational support as they transition into more permanent housing or reunification with their families. We partner with the NC Youth Violence Prevention Center that provides all residents with free mental health services, trauma focused therapy and paint therapy. We partner with McKinney Vento that provides tutoring supplies. We have a part time tutor that is free of charge to the residents while in care. Many of our clients come from all walks of life and backgrounds and have little to no experience with healthy familial relationships, here at Robeson House we cultivate an environment that promotes positive growth for both the client and the family.
What We Do
Robeson House, Inc is a temporary emergency residential care facility. We house youth between the ages of 7-17 that are in the custody of the Department of Social Services and the Department of Juvenile Services. Clients come to the Robeson House via referrals for the aforementioned referral sources and are housed in our facility for 90 day periods.
