Who We Are

Caring Touch Outreach Services' mission is to reach out to those who need help, support, and encouragement in their daily lives and future endeavors. We hope to lend a helping hand that will assist in directing their paths in the right direction. We will strive to the best of our abilities to make a difference in the lives of the community citizens we touch.

What We Do

• Food Pantry: Our Food Pantry is open daily and provides meats, produce, dairy, breads and other daily essentials for those individual and/or families who are in need of an immediate food source.

• Bimonthly Food Give Away: This is at a minimum of at least twice a month an individual has access to our monthly food bank give away. (We provide food for free to the public.) Our monthly food giveaways give individuals and their households enough food to feed the household for a week or longer.

• Free Blood Sugar & Blood Pressure Screenings: Every day we have an onsite Registered Nurse who is available to check an individual’s blood pressure and/or blood sugar. This program allows individuals to come in and have access to a health resource. Once an individual is checked they are then given a pamphlet with various clinics throughout the community that will provide health care to clients on a sliding scale basis. Most of the individuals we refer cannot pay for any services and have a zero copay.

• Furniture: Items are purchased from various organizations along with the NC State surplus and donated for redistribution to individuals who come into the Caring Touch Outreach center requesting a need for furniture. Individuals and or families are able to get furniture for their homes free of charge as needs arise and as it is available.

• Household Items including toiletries, cleaning supplies, hair care products, hygiene products, baby pampers, baby wipes, adult depends, adult pads, cat food, dog food, furniture, clothes and small appliances. etc. These items are given to families free of charge upon request and upon the availability of the item.

• Rent/Utilities: Utilities and Rent payments are made on a case by case basis. Individuals who qualify will receive a payment made directly to the utility company and or rent payment made payable to the landlord on behalf of the tenant.

• Backpack Program: food items donated to the Public Schools of Robeson County for students who are in need of food over the weekend. This partnership collaborates with schools and other churches with in the community.

• Community Feedings: this program partners with the Mt Olive PH Church Kitchen Outreach Ministry to feed at risk groups of individuals such as the elderly and those of low economic status.

• TEFAP (Temporary Emergency Federal Assistance Program): Our facility distributes food supplied under the Temporary Emergency Federal Assistance Program to homes under the first come, first served basis. This program is for Individuals who are from only from Robeson county. They may qualify for this program based on their annual household income.
