If you are able to volunteer, select from either of the locations below to volunteer.  Please stay safe, use your best judgement on traveling to volunteer.  Housing will not be provided to out of town volunteers. Be sure to track all volunteer hours on UNCP Serve.

NECHAMA- Jewish Response to Disaster

NECHAMA is working to muck and gut homes impacted by Hurricane Matthew. We accept day volunteers as well as long term residential volunteers, and large groups. We provide site supervision, all necessary protective equipment, and no prior experience is necessary.

Work site addresses vary day to day, but will be provided prior to arrival. Working on homes in Lumberton, NC in various neighborhoods.

United Way of Robeson County is seeking volunteers to help in their efforts to assist those who were affected by Hurricane Matthew.  If you would like to volunteer, please send your full name, address, email, phone number and days/hours that you are available to volunteer to Lsr005@bravemail.uncp.edu.

Robeson County Church and Community Center Hurricane Volunteer (On-going)

Monday - Friday: 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.  &  Saturday: 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Volunteers are need to help restore our facility that was flooded during Hurricane Matthew.

Donate! 

Nonperishable food items, toiletries, water and clothing can be donated at the Care Resource Center located on campus in Wellons Hall, suite C. Hour of operation are as follows:

  • Monday 9:00 am-12:00 pm
  • Tuesday 1:00 pm-6:00 pm
  • Wednesday 9:00 am-6:00 pm
  • Thursday 1:00 pm-6:00 pm
  • Friday 9:00 am-12:00 pm

Most needed items include the following: 

  • Cleaning supplies (Bleach, Clorox wipes, etc.)
  • Canned Fruits, Vegetables, Meat, and Soup 
  • Whole Grain Pasta, Brown Rice, Dried Beans, and Cereal
  • Peanut Butter
  • For Infants: Formula, Infant Cereal, Diapers, and Wipes
  • For Kids: Fruit Cups, Juice Boxes, Granola Bars, Crackers, Popcorn and Sugar-Free Pudding Cups
  • Non-Food Essentials: Hygiene Items, Household Items, and Paper Products
